Perdido Street Station
I really wanted to like this one, especially after having read and enjoyed Un Lun Dun, but this one never got my attention like I expected it to. The world-building in the book is extraordinary, and the ideas were intriguing, but it ultimately felt like too much description and not enough plot. I think that might be one of the failings of fantasy in general for me, but I was disappointed that it didn't wow me. I can totally see why people like this as much as they do, though.
